Today we are feeding 200 children through a local food pantry called Kids’ Food Basket. The staff at KFB is matching every $1 donation up to $5,000 and we feel very grateful to be able to contribute. We ran a holiday party promotion to donate to local non-profit organizations which turned out to align perfectly with Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a movement to create an international day of giving which happens on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
Giving Tuesday is a day to remind us of the importance of our personal contributions to society and how we can impact those people in our community that need our help. We are a small growing company and we recognize the necessity to contribute to our community today as well on an ongoing basis, so this is our start. We are feeding 200 kids today, and next year our target is 2,000. We hope that you will be inspired to help out a local organization such as KidsFoodBasket.com or any other organization listed at grgives.com #givingtuesday #grgives
About Kids’ Food Basket:
Kids’ Food Basket is a nonprofit organization attacking childhood hunger to help young people learn and live well. We began over a decade ago by serving 125 kids each school day through our Sack Supper program and now serve nearly 7,500 kids each weekday in West Michigan. Sack Suppers are evening meals that provide a well-rounded nutritious meal —nutrition that’s critical to the development of kids’ brains and bodies. Learn More
